I'll give it a shot and say the cliff, the nothingness ahead of her is the future, while the sands are the past, the trodden road. The red being behind her is perhaps her brain, the branches and the eyes are her memories, "a look into the past". Her pleasant gesture and her hands in position for prayer are hopes and desires of a good future. My interpretation.
I like this piece very much.
