Do you plan on coloring it? I would love it.
My interpretation is based on both the image and the title and might be somewhat literal.
The girl is so eager to leave all the bad behind her and be free, to fly with the birds in the open sky, that she finds what binds her to her past only as an annoyance. She's too stressed to take the time to untie the bonds one at a time. Instead she tries to break them by shear force, which is impossible.
In her hasty struggle she tears of the connection with her roots and with her eyes set firmly on the horizon she fails to see both the beauty and and life in side of her and right in front of her. As she only strides to be much more than she is she misses out on they few things she can enjoy from where she is.
Since the dark bonds show now sign of tearing it's clear that she won't be free unless someone comes along and helps her.
